What's happening now? Glad you ask...
This week its the first week back to school so your child will be learning the ins and outs of their new fantastic classroom environment. We will be focusing on establishing the daily routines, understanding tansitions and developing classroom rules so that each day can be safe, fun and filled with productive learning.
We will be doing some exciting activities including:
- Making a classroom time capsule that we will crack open at the end of the year
- Starting our individual portfolios so we can track our work and progress over the year
- Learning our classmate's names through interactive games and songs
- Begining our journals where we will keep writing all year long
You can help continue the learning and smooth transition into the classroom by:
- Talking positively about school and their teachers
- Reading books about school to them
- Encouraging a smooth seperation when the bell rings for start of day by leaving and allowing the child to enter the school with the rest of the class without you
- Remembering to talk to your child about what they are doing each day and ask questions
- Encourage their excitement and fasinations.
